Havago Community
Circus and Drumming Trust was incorporated in 2015 (Inc
#2626693) to create projects and events that help
encourage people to get involved and engaged through community
circus and community drum circles.
Both these
activities can be taught to almost anyone and have been shown to
assist with personal development and provide holistic therapy
while encouraging social interaction.
The name is an
abbreviation of 'Have a go' and explains very simpliy what we
are about, encouraging everybody to participate with us in these
community activities.
A specific focus
will be given to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, including
at risk youth and those affected by mental health.
We are also keen to
raise the profile of community circus and drum circles within
the country.
Our first big event
was held in late Oct and brought together participants from
Auckland, BOP, Waikato and Coromandel for 3 days of circus arts
and drumming.
Jeanne and I are
excited to have achieved this and have events planned around the
country that we hope you can join us in…..
